The Double Degree International Program
in Tropical Agriculture and International Trade is a four-year
program which will provide students with knowledge in two
areas critical to the Thai economy. Agriculture industry
is the backbone of the Thai economy and as globalization
continues to open up more markets throughout the world,
an understanding of international trade issues is essential
to operate successfully in this highly competitive industry.
Students will be taught by Professors
from both Kasetsart University and visiting Professors from
Victoria University and will have the choice to study the
full four-year program at Kasetsart University in Thailand,
or 3 years at Kasetsart University and the 4th year at Victory
Unviersity in Melbourne,
Special Features
The four-year program will be taught in
English and visiting instructors from Victoria University
will teach into the program in every year of the program.
A specialized English support course is built into the program
providing students with English communicative sills and
support throughout the program.
Assessment
A range of assessment techniques will be
used throughout the program. Lectures, tutorials, laboratory
sessions, group assignment, presentations, research projects
and exams will be used to assess students' performance.
Internship
Options
Students have the option of participating
in a one year industry-based learning component linking
classroom studies with the practical realities of the workplace.
Students work full-time in industry for a period of at least
40 weeks and are generally paid an award of trainee-level
wage. This Co-operative Education program can be undertaken
in Thailand or Australia.
Your Future
Career
Graduates of the Double Degree Program will
be qualified to work in both the agriculture and business
sectors of the economy. Graduates will be strategically
positioned to enter management positions in the global agriculture
industry, particularly in positions requiring good knowledge
of International Trade practices in agricultural commodities
and English fluency.
